Vivo on Tuesday launched the V80 5G in India, its latest premium mid-range smartphone that puts camera hardware and battery endurance front and centre. The phone starts at Rs 62,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, with 8GB+256GB at Rs 69,999 and the top-end 8GB+512GB model at Rs 79,999.
Price, colours and availability
The V80 comes in three colours — Sunrise Anthem, Stellar Black and Horizon Blue — and can be pre-booked from today through Vivo's official website, Flipkart and Amazon. Vivo is offering EMI plans starting from Rs 2,625 per month, along with an instant discount of up to 10 per cent on select bank cards and a few other launch offers.
Camera-first design
The phone carries a ZEISS co-engineered triple rear camera setup: a 50MP main camera built on Sony's LYTIA 700V sensor with optical image stabilisation, a 50MP night telephoto camera with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front is a 50MP ZEISS camera with autofocus. Vivo says the rear camera also works underwater, and the ultrawide lens includes a fisheye mode for creative shots.
Battery and display
The standout specification is a 7,200mAh battery — the largest ever in a Vivo V-series phone — supported by 90W wired fast charging and silicon-carbon anode technology. The phone packs a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and up to 5,000 nits of local peak brightness, and carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. It runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset with OriginOS 7 based on Android 17.
A packed launch day
Vivo also launched two other devices alongside the V80 in India: the Vivo X Fold 6 foldable and the Vivo S2 FE, making October 6 one of the busiest launch days of the year for the brand.
