Vijay Sethupathi is set to return to theatres with 'Train', his long-delayed Tamil thriller directed by Mysskin. The makers have confirmed December 4 as the film's theatrical release date, ending nearly three years of waiting for fans.

A release date at last

Although promotional materials — including music, a teaser, birthday greeting videos and behind-the-scenes footage from an action sequence — had been released earlier, the film's arrival in cinemas remained uncertain until now. The announcement follows the encouraging box office response to Sethupathi's 'Baththa', which has kept the actor in the spotlight.

An emotional story, music by the director himself

Director Mysskin, who has also composed the film's music, shared details of the premise at an event in May. The story follows a man who has lost the will to live and boards a train intending to plant a sapling at his wife's grave. Events during the journey change his outlook and help him understand the value of life.

Apart from Vijay Sethupathi, 'Train' features Shruti Haasan, Nassar, Yugi Sethu, Narain and K. S. Ravikumar in important roles.
