Hong Kong-based TonoCard has announced that its card-format AI call-screening device will launch on Kickstarter on October 15, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. PDT (10:00 a.m. EDT), the company said in its launch announcement.

The 3.2mm-thin Bluetooth accessory attaches to the back of a compatible iOS or Android smartphone and is designed to answer unattended calls after five seconds, identify the caller's purpose and alert the user when a conversation matches predefined priorities.

What the company claims

Unlike app-only call-screening tools, TonoCard connects to a paired smartphone through Bluetooth HFP and BLE — the same protocols used by hands-free systems and Bluetooth headsets — which the company says lets it interact with live calls without requiring a second SIM card or separate phone number.

Call-handling rules are set through a companion app using plain-language instructions or one of three operating modes: no takeover, unknown callers only, or full takeover. Calls handled by the system are recorded in the app with a concise summary and transcript. The company says the app needs no account and that call information is retained locally on the paired device.

Specs and pricing

The device measures 86 by 56 by 3.2mm and weighs about 35 grams. Its hardware includes a 120-by-240-pixel OLED display, Bluetooth 5.3, a 600 mAh battery rated for roughly 30 days of standby, and four-point magnetic Pogo Pin charging. It is designed to stay connected at distances of up to three metres from the paired phone.

TonoCard expects a retail price of US$229, with an introductory Kickstarter pledge level of US$159. Final specifications, compatibility and fulfillment timing will be on the campaign page.
