Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has launched his official YouTube channel, 'Being Salman Khan', announcing the new digital venture to fans through his Instagram Stories on Friday.
"Shuru se shuru karte hain. Mera official YouTube channel. A se Z tak sab yahan milega" — let's start from the beginning; you'll find everything here, from A to Z — the actor wrote alongside a short alphabet-themed video teasing the channel's content. The channel's bio describes him as a "Film actor. Artist. Painter. Humanitarian" and confirms it is his official page.
A coach-and-student format
Unlike conventional celebrity channels focused on personal updates, 'Being Salman Khan' follows a distinctive format in which the actor appears in two roles: one as an experienced acting and personality coach, and the other as a novice student learning the craft. Through these videos, the coach guides the student on body movements, dialogue delivery and the mannerisms that have defined Salman's on-screen persona, presenting the lessons in a light-hearted manner. The channel was launched on September 22 and had 10 videos uploaded by the time of the public announcement.
Strong early response
The channel got an encouraging start: it attracted more than 14,000 subscribers within about an hour of the announcement, according to reports, and has since crossed 31,000 subscribers. The early uploads are primarily short, light-hearted videos rather than long-format content.
Salman joins Bollywood's YouTube wave
This is not the actor's first venture on YouTube. In 2020, he launched 'Salman Khan Films Music', which has nearly three million subscribers and features songs from his films as well as independently released music. During the Covid-19 pandemic, he also explored singing, releasing tracks such as 'Pyaar Karona' and 'Tere Bina'. He is among several Bollywood celebrities using the platform to connect directly with fans, including Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Kartik Aaryan, along with filmmaker Farah Khan.
What is next for the actor
On the work front, Salman is currently hosting the reality show 'Bigg Boss 20'. His next film is 'Maatrubhumi', directed by Apoorva Lakhia and co-starring Chitrangada Singh, though a release date has not been announced yet.
