Royal Enfield has recorded its highest-ever monthly sales, selling 1,33,958 motorcycles in September 2026 — an 8% year-on-year increase over the 1,24,328 units sold in September 2025. The milestone lands just as the festive season begins, signalling strong retail demand at a crucial moment for the two-wheeler industry.
Domestic sales grew 7% to 1,21,326 units, up from 1,13,573 units a year earlier, while exports jumped 17% to 12,632 units from 10,755 units.
New products feeding the momentum
The record month was powered by strong domestic sales and expanding export outreach, with the recently launched Himalayan 440 adventure tourer fully booked for six months, the company said. The Himalayan 440 — launched earlier in September to mark a decade of the Himalayan nameplate with a new 443cc long-stroke engine and six-speed gearbox — was unveiled at the inaugural Himalayan Basecamp in Ladakh.
Royal Enfield also rolled out new editions during the month, including the Classic 350 Signature White and the Flying Flea C6 electric motorcycle, both expected to add sales momentum. Internationally, the company launched the Guerrilla 450 Apex and Goan Classic 350 in the Philippines, the Bullet 650 and Goan Classic 350 in Cambodia, and the Flying Flea C6 in select European cities and the UK.
Strong first half of the fiscal
The September record caps a strong six months. For April-September, Eicher Motors' reported motorcycle sales rose 20% year-on-year to 7,09,096 units, up from 5,91,903 units in the same period last year. Domestic sales climbed 23% to 6,42,021 units, though exports declined 5% to 67,075 units.
Motorcycles with engine capacity up to 350cc and electric vehicles grew 13% in September to 1,21,495 units, while models above 350cc declined 26% to 12,463 units.
B. Govindarajan, managing director of Eicher Motors and CEO of Royal Enfield, said the company was scaling up production, inventory and channel readiness for the festive season, citing positive customer sentiment and a strong booking pipeline across its network. He also noted that Royal Enfield won the Two-Wheeler OEM category at the FADA Dealer Satisfaction Survey 2026 for the second consecutive year, and that its global One Ride event drew a record 1,50,000-plus riders in support of snow leopard conservation.
