A Rohit Shetty-backed love story starring Krithi Shetty has gone on floors under the title Hum Tere Pyaar Mein, with longtime Shetty associate Vidhi Ghodgaonkar making her feature directorial debut, Bollywood Hungama reported in an exclusive on Tuesday. The film marks Krithi Shetty's debut as a leading lady in Hindi cinema.
A debut director, 17 years in the making
Ghodgaonkar has worked alongside Rohit Shetty for 17 years, serving as assistant director on some of his biggest titles — including Golmaal 3, Singham, Bol Bachchan, Chennai Express, Singham Returns, Dilwale, Golmaal Again, Simmba and the series Indian Police Force. She has also been part of the writing teams on Sooryavanshi, Cirkus and Singham Again. A source told the publication that the title carries "an old-school touch and charm."
The film is being produced by Abhishek S Vyas under AVS Studios in association with Tudip Entertainment, with Shetty presenting the project. Filmfare, which corroborated the development, noted that the love story has already started shooting.
Krithi Shetty's road to a Hindi lead role
The 22-year-old actor is no stranger to screens. She had a small role in Super 30 in 2019 before her full-fledged acting debut in the Telugu film Uppena in 2021, which made her an overnight name in the South. Since then she has headlined Shyam Singha Roy, Bangarraju, Custody, Manamey and the Malayalam hit ARM. Now, the Rohit Shetty-backed project puts her front and centre in a Hindi romance.
The development is a report from the trade publication rather than an official production announcement, so further details — including the rest of the cast and a release window — are still awaited. Filmfare additionally reported that Shetty's own Golmaal 5 is scheduled to release on January 8, 2027.
