Prabhas' upcoming period action drama Fauzi is reportedly targeting a March 18, 2027 theatrical release, according to industry reports, setting up the possibility of the star having two major releases in the same month. The film was earlier expected to reach cinemas in December 2026 before the makers pushed it back, saying they needed more time to finish the work.
According to reports, the Fauzi team is currently shooting the film's interval sequence, which is expected to be a key part of the drama. The current shooting schedule is expected to wrap on October 12, after which the team will take a short break. The next schedule is expected to begin on November 15 and run until December 15, during which the makers plan to shoot the climax and finish other important scenes so that post-production can begin properly. The makers are reportedly aiming to complete filming by mid-December.
Birthday teaser buzz
There is also talk of the makers releasing the film's teaser on October 23, Prabhas' 47th birthday, though nothing has been confirmed yet. During the birthday celebrations, the team may also announce the film's release date if everything goes as planned.
The reported March 18 date has a direct bearing on Spirit, the other Prabhas-starrer directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which is officially scheduled for March 5, 2027. If the Fauzi date is finalised, the actor could have two big films arriving within weeks of each other, though there has been no confirmed announcement of a schedule change for Spirit.
A soldier's story
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Fauzi features Prabhas as a soldier from the Azad Hind Fauj in a fictional story set against a historical backdrop. The film marks the acting debut of internet personality Imanvi, with Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Jaya Prada and Sajjad Delafrooz also in the cast.
At the pre-release event of Nani's The Paradise in Hyderabad, Mythri Movie Makers producer Ravi Shankar praised the film and spoke positively about Prabhas' role, saying audiences had not seen the actor in such a film since Baahubali.
