Bengaluru: Top seed Pedro Martinez claimed the singles title at the 10th Dafa News Bengaluru Open 2026, defeating Kazakhstan's Timofey Skatov 7-6(5), 6-3 in a rain-interrupted final at the SM Krishna Tennis Stadium.

How the final unfolded

Martinez pressed for an early break in the third game of the first set, but Skatov's strong defence kept games close under sustained service pressure. The Kazakh raised his level in the ninth game, winning long rallies with deep returns, and saved a couple of set points in a long drawn-out hold to force a tie-break. Martinez edged ahead in the breaker, capitalising on a few unforced errors to take the opening set.

The Spaniard carried that momentum into the second set, breaking Skatov in the very first game and finding the lines with clean winners. Despite Skatov's best efforts to stay in the contest, the former top-40 player sealed the match with another break in the ninth game.

The rewards

The title comes with a cash prize of $33,650 and 125 ATP ranking points for Martinez.

In the doubles final, the Colombian-American pair of Nicolas Barrientos and Benjamin Kittay defeated France's Arthur Reymond and Luca Sanchez 7-6(9), 7-5 to take the title and a $9,900 cash prize. A crucial double fault from Reymond in the 12th game handed Barrientos and Kittay the decisive break.
