No. 22 UCLA pulled off a major upset on Saturday, beating No. 13 Oregon 17-15 on the road in a defensive battle that produced a combined 10 turnovers.

The Bruins, coached by Bob Chesney, knocked off the Ducks at Rich Brooks Field despite losing quarterback Nico Iamaleava to a lower leg injury. Running back Wayne Knight carried the load in the win, rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown.

Oregon played without Dante Moore, who remains in the concussion protocol, and turned to Dylan Raiola. The backup quarterback endured a rough afternoon, completing 6 of 18 passes for 43 yards with two interceptions before being replaced by Brock Thomas. With Raiola leading the offence, the Ducks punted six times and turned the ball over five times — two interceptions and three fumbles — managing just 272 total yards and 12 first downs.

After the game, Raiola took responsibility for the defeat. "Sometimes the ball doesn't go your way," he said. "I was reckless with the ball today, and you can't win football games like that."

It was a stark fall for a quarterback who was on top of the world two weeks earlier, when he led the Ducks to a win over USC with 289 passing yards and three touchdowns in relief duty. On Saturday, the only points Oregon mustered while he was on the field came after the defence recovered a UCLA fumble at the 1-yard line.

The win keeps UCLA unbeaten at 5-0 and 3-0 in Big Ten play, while Oregon drops to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the conference.
