Microsoft to Hold Windows and Surface Event Today With Satya Nadella and Jensen Huang in Attendance

Microsoft will hold its first major Windows-focused event since May 2024 in San Francisco today, October 7, with CEO Satya Nadella, Windows and devices chief Pavan Davuluri, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang all confirmed to attend. The event begins at 10am PT, which is 10:30pm in India.

The central theme is how on-device, local AI will shape the next generation of personal computers. Microsoft is expected to share updates across Windows, the RTX Spark programme, Surface hardware, and the wider PC ecosystem.

Observers expect pricing and availability details for the Surface Laptop Ultra and the RTX Spark Dev Box to headline the event. RTX Spark, Nvidia's new offering for AI developers, pairs a Grace CPU with Blackwell RTX graphics, offers up to 128GB of unified memory, and is rated at up to one petaflop of AI compute, according to Gadgets360.

The timing is significant: Nvidia has said the first RTX Spark-powered Windows PCs will arrive in October, making the event the key launchpad for the AI PC push on Windows this year.

One thing not expected on the agenda: Windows 12. Build-up coverage indicates the next major Windows version is not on the table at this event.
