Micron Technology has posted the biggest quarter in its history, reporting fiscal fourth-quarter revenue of $54.23 billion — up 379% from $11.32 billion a year earlier — as booming demand for AI data-center memory pushed every one of its business units to record sales.
The company said GAAP net income surged to $37.70 billion, or $32.87 per diluted share, up from $3.20 billion a year ago. For the full fiscal year 2026, revenue reached $133.19 billion, up from $37.38 billion in fiscal 2025, with annual net income of $84.97 billion.
"Micron delivered record fiscal 2026 results, and we expect an even stronger fiscal 2027," Chairman and CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said, adding that "AI is becoming Super Intelligence, and memory enhances this intelligence and the competitiveness of our customers' platforms."
Data centers drive the surge
The Core Data Center Business Unit was the standout, with revenue jumping more than 11-fold year-on-year to $18 billion, overtaking the Cloud Memory unit to become the company's largest division. Its gross margin climbed to 90% from 41% a year earlier, while its operating margin rose to 85% from 25%.
Cloud Memory also grew strongly, with revenue of $16.28 billion, up from $4.54 billion a year earlier, and an operating margin of 76%.
Looking ahead, Micron projected fiscal first-quarter 2027 revenue of around $61.5 billion — roughly 13% above the record just reported — alongside a non-GAAP gross margin of approximately 86.25% and diluted earnings per share of about $38.15. The company said it is increasing investments in technology, products and manufacturing to meet demand, pointing to strategic customer agreements that it says add confidence in the durability of its performance.
