Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are finally set to collaborate after years of missed opportunities, with the filmmaker producing her next film, according to a Filmfare report cited by Times Now.
The project will be directed by Aatish Kapadia, known for the popular sitcom Khichdi and the 2017 film Chumbak. Details of the film are still under wraps.
The collaboration has been a long time coming. Kareena was earlier expected to work with Bhansali on Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, and the duo were associated with another project as well — but neither materialised. This time, they will come together with Bhansali backing the film as producer and Kapadia in the director's chair.
Kareena was recently spotted at Bhansali's office, fuelling speculation about the project. She is also reportedly in talks to star in filmmaker S Mithran's Hindi debut — a mythological jungle adventure still in its early stages, with casting and the shooting schedule yet to be finalised. Dhanush is also expected to feature in that project, with Bhansali reportedly producing.
On the work front, Bhansali has been gradually introducing his next directorial, Love & War, through striking first looks of its lead cast — Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. The film is slated to release on January 21, 2027.
Kareena was last seen in National Award-winning filmmaker Meghna Gulzar's crime thriller Daayra, which released on September 18, in which she plays DCP Ajooni Kohli opposite Prithviraj Sukumaran.
