The clock is running out for banking aspirants across India. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will close online applications for the RRB 2026 recruitment — officially CRP RRBs-XV — today, September 27, 2026.
The recruitment covers more than 13,700 vacancies for Office Assistant (Clerk), Officer Scale-I (Probationary Officer), and Officer Scale-II and III (specialist officer) posts in regional rural banks. Career Power puts the total at 13,757 posts, while a revised count of 13,745 followed the addition of 39 more Office Assistant vacancies — candidates should go by the official notification at ibps.in for the final tally.
The deadline matters because it was extended: applications were originally due to close on September 21, and the window is now being shut with no further extension expected. Candidates who have started but not submitted their forms need to complete the process and pay the fee today.
Applications can only be submitted online through www.ibps.in. Two links are active: one for the Office Assistant post and a common link for Officer Scale-I and Scale-II/III. Candidates must apply separately for each exam they intend to take.
Fee and documents
The application fee is Rs. 175 for SC, ST and PwBD candidates and Rs. 850 for all other categories, payable online by credit card, debit card or net banking. Applications without the fee are rejected.
Before applying, candidates should keep scanned copies of their photograph, signature, left-thumb impression and the handwritten declaration ready. The prescribed declaration reads: "I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true, and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required." Candidates also fill an RRB preference list in order of choice, with no limit on the number of banks selected.
The official notification was issued on August 31 and registration opened on September 1. Printing of submitted applications remains available until October 5.
