Honeywell Technologies on Wednesday introduced Forge Cognition, a self-contained agentic AI and simulation platform designed for running buildings, campuses and industrial operations. The platform, developed with technology from NVIDIA and Dell Technologies, combines real-time digital twins with AI agents that help operators understand facility conditions, simulate scenarios and coordinate actions across existing systems.

The launch, announced from Charlotte, North Carolina, marks Honeywell Technologies' biggest push into what the industry calls "physical AI" — artificial intelligence that understands how real-world systems actually operate and interact, rather than models that work only on digital data.

What the platform does

Forge Cognition connects to a customer's existing deployments and adds AI capability on top. Its agents can classify and verify building-management alarms to cut down false positives, analyse live data from heating and cooling equipment to flag maintenance issues before they cause disruptions, and run digital-twin simulations to find ways of reducing energy use while keeping occupants comfortable.

Honeywell says the system can be run in manual, semi-autonomous or autonomous modes, with operators setting the level of oversight and able to override the agents at any time.

NVIDIA and Dell provide the engine room

NVIDIA contributes its Nemotron open models for the agents, Omniverse libraries for physically accurate simulations and Cosmos open models with the Metropolis VSS Blueprint for vision AI that can understand live or recorded sensor data. Dell supplies the underlying AI infrastructure through its Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA, including PowerEdge XE servers and data and storage engines.

Pilot deployments are under way at NVIDIA's Voyager campus in Santa Clara, the Fairmont Hotel in Dubai, NEX Mall in Singapore, Vanderbilt University in the United States, and Honeywell Technologies' own campuses in Bangalore and Richardson, Texas. At the Voyager pilot, the company reports up to a 90% reduction in unnecessary alerts and up to a 10% potential reduction in energy and utility consumption, while maintaining a comfort score above 95%.
