GIGABYTE has unveiled a new 64GB unified memory version of its AI TOP ATOM desktop computer, aimed at developers, researchers and enterprise teams who want to build and run artificial intelligence models on their own desks rather than in the cloud. The Taipei-based company announced the launch on October 2, and said the new configuration will be available starting October 23.

The AI TOP ATOM is a compact desktop built around NVIDIA's DGX Spark platform, designed for tasks such as model inference, prototype development and data analysis in offices, laboratories and classrooms. By running models and processing data locally, the company says, users keep greater control over their development resources and project data while reducing their reliance on cloud computing. The new 64GB variant joins an existing 128GB version, giving users a choice of memory capacities to match different model sizes and workloads.

On the networking side, the machine includes built-in ConnectX-7 networking, and up to four units can be clustered with NVIDIA Sync to pool memory and compute for larger jobs. The software package combines NVIDIA's CUDA-accelerated AI software ecosystem with GIGABYTE's own AI TOP Utility, which offers model downloading, inference and retrieval-augmented generation features. That, the company says, lets developers explore open models, test AI assistants, or build question-and-answer applications on top of their own documents without leaving their local machine.

GIGABYTE also highlighted a multi-node scientific computing demonstration in which NVIDIA Nemotron open models were combined with the NVIDIA NemoClaw open agent blueprint, linking research hypothesis generation with simulation workflows — an example of the agentic AI applications the company wants the platform to support.

The company said pricing, sales channels and availability may vary by region, and pointed buyers to its official announcements and authorised local distributors. The launch lands as demand for local AI development tools continues to grow alongside generative and agentic AI applications.
