Mumbai: The village of Dhadakpur is back in trouble. The second season of the Prime Video comedy series 'Dupahiya' premieres on the streaming platform on Thursday, October 1, 2026, picking up from where the first season left off.
The eight-episode season is a Prime Video exclusive and is available across India and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. The trailer for the new season was unveiled on September 21.
A tower, an exam and a scam
This time, chaos arrives in the form of a mobile phone tower planned on Banwari Jha's barren land. As the tower goes up, villagers begin blaming it for everything — from typhoid to tsunamis — and superstition spreads faster than the signal.
Parallel threads run through the season: Bhugol, played by Sparsh Shrivastava, has found fame, though success has come at a cost; Roshni, played by Shivani Raghuvanshi, is racing against a seven-day deadline to clear her SSC examination; and a newcomer played by Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, arrives offering Roshni a shortcut to pass, with open affection for her. Inspector Mithlesh, meanwhile, suspects a scam brewing under the comic surface.
Cast and crew
Most of the ensemble returns: Gajraj Rao as Banwari Jha, Renuka Shahane as village chief Pushplata, Sparsh Shrivastava, Bhuvan Arora, Shivani Raghuvanshi and Yashpal Sharma. Bhojpuri actor and singer Dinesh Lal Yadav joins the cast this season.
The season is directed by Sonam Nair, and created and produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under Bombay Film Cartel LLP, with Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg credited as creators and writers.
