China's 2026 National Day holiday box office has surpassed 466 million yuan — about US$69.5 million — including pre-sales, as of 2:30 pm on October 3, according to data platform Beacon Pro reported by CGTN.

Holiday lineup
The holiday movie season runs from October 1 to 7. The current top three earners are Traces of Justice, the body-swap comedy Mr. & Mrs. Pardon, and Peppa Pig: Perfect Holiday.

Guangdong Province led all provincial-level regions with more than 57 million yuan (about US$8.5 million) in box office revenue as of the same time, underlining its position as one of China's major movie markets.

Traces of Justice leads
Traces of Justice has topped the daily box office for two consecutive days during the holiday, with its total exceeding 181 million yuan (about US$26.9 million). The film is based on the real-life story of Cui Daozhi — a recipient of the July 1 Medal, the Communist Party of China's highest honour, and a veteran criminal-investigation expert — and follows a forensic specialist who uses trace examination techniques to solve difficult cases.

Among Guangdong-produced titles, Mr. & Mrs. Pardon follows a married couple who unexpectedly switch bodies and must live each other's daily lives. The crime action film Go for Broke 2 and the crime action comedy The Old Fox round out the province's holiday slate.
