BLACKPINK member Lisa's much-awaited documentary, Always Lalisa, hit theatres today, giving fans an intimate look at the K-pop star's journey as a solo artist.
From group hiatus to solo spotlight
Directed by Sue Kim, the documentary traces Lisa's evolution as a solo performer during BLACKPINK's group hiatus. It goes behind the scenes of her debut solo album Alter Ego and explores her acting debut in the third season of HBO's dark comedy White Lotus in 2025.
Festival premiere to theatrical run
The film had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 18, and Sony Music Vision announced the theatrical rollout. Fans booked tickets from September 9 through the documentary's official website, and the film will also be available on YouTube after its theatrical run.
Music on the way
The documentary arrives just ahead of new music: Lisa has released the single "SaWaDiKa," a tribute to her Thai heritage, as the first track from her upcoming EP Press Play, expected on October 23, 2026.
Lisa began her solo career in 2021 with the single "LALISA" and has since worked to build an identity beyond BLACKPINK, even as the group celebrated ten years together this August.
