The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has called a joint stakeholders' meeting in Mumbai on October 15 as the Indian Premier League approaches its landmark 20th season next year.

Who has been invited

The BCCI has invited all key IPL stakeholders, including franchise owners and chief executive officers, the state associations that have hosted IPL matches, and broadcasters. A BCCI source told PTI that the board intends to review issues and lessons from previous IPL seasons while also addressing concerns raised by stakeholders during the meeting.

Planning for IPL 2027

Planning and discussions related to the organisation of the 2027 edition of the league are also on the agenda. The BCCI believes state associations play a key role in hosting the tournament and that their views on match-day coordination and venue operations are critical to the issues the board aims to address.

The meeting comes after the BCCI's Annual General Meeting last month in Mumbai, where the general body unanimously decided to celebrate the completion of two decades of the IPL "in a grand way".
