Tamil actor Arjun Das has confirmed he was in line for a role in Don 3, putting months of speculation about the stalled franchise to rest — and confirming that the collaboration is no longer happening. In an exclusive interview with News18 published on October 3, 2026, Das revealed that filmmaker Farhan Akhtar personally called him and the two met to discuss the project.
"I was very, very fortunate to have received a call from Farhan sir. We did meet, humne discuss bhi kiya tha, but unfortunately, that isn't happening now," Das said, adding that it was "supposed to happen" and that he hopes to collaborate with Farhan on another project in the future.
Franchise in limbo
According to News18, Das was in the frame for the antagonist's role, reportedly replacing Vikrant Massey — a detail the publication frames as a report rather than the actor's own statement. Casting changes have since forced Farhan to put the project on the back seat, with the film's future still unsettled. Separately, Don 3 was to star Ranveer Singh as the new Don, but the project stalled after his exit amid reported fallout with Farhan, a context carried by Hindustan Times reporting.
What Das is doing next
Das also told News18 that he has completed another Hindi film, which is currently in post-production, though release details remain unknown. For fans, the confirmation offers a concrete new piece of the Don 3 casting puzzle — the first direct acknowledgement from an actor about what nearly happened with one of Bollywood's most-watched stalled projects.
