Actor Yami Gautam and filmmaker Aditya Dhar have reportedly shifted their permanent base from Mumbai to Himachal Pradesh, trading the constant glare of the film capital for a quieter life in the hills.

The couple will now divide their time between Himachal Pradesh and Mumbai, where work commitments will keep drawing them back, according to a report in the Free Press Journal carried by News18.

A home with deep roots

For Yami, Himachal Pradesh has never been just an escape. Before her marriage, the actor purchased a 100-year-old heritage home set on a 25-acre property in Gohar in the Mandi district — a place tied closely to her family and childhood memories.

The property became even more meaningful when the couple married there in June 2021. Built with wood and stone and surrounded by gardens where apples, potatoes, plums and ginger are grown, the house has, the report says, been deliberately kept simple rather than turned into a heavily developed celebrity residence.

Choosing privacy over page three

The shift fits a pattern the couple has followed for years. Despite being among Bollywood's most prominent pairs, Yami and Aditya rarely let their personal lives enter the public conversation, appearing together mostly around shoots, promotions and industry events.

Privacy has mattered even more since they became parents. The couple welcomed their son Vedavid in May 2024 and have deliberately kept his face away from the public eye — in September 2025, Yami shared a picture with him but continued to conceal his face.

Aditya has also kept a low profile since the success of his Dhurandhar franchise. Earlier this year he was seen publicly mainly around professional commitments, including the National Film Award ceremony in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, where the couple won National Awards for Article 370 — Aditya as producer and Yami for her performance as the lead actor.

The Mumbai chapter

Before the reported move, the couple lived in a spacious rented apartment in Khar West, Mumbai — an address Aditya himself had joked about while promoting the first part of Dhurandhar in late 2025, calling it "Chitrakar Dhurandhar Marg". The apartment had reportedly been their home for a long time, and there were later indications they may have purchased it after the franchise's success.

Neither the couple nor their representatives has issued a public statement on the reported shift. If confirmed, the move would place them among a small but growing group of film personalities choosing the hills over the city as their primary home.
