Nakhrewaalii, a romantic comedy backed by filmmaker Aanand L Rai, is set to release in theatres on October 30, 2026, Bollywood Hungama reported on Monday. The film introduces newcomers Ansh Duggal and Pragati Srivastava in the lead roles.
The film marks the directorial debut of Rahul Shanklya, with Divy Nidhi Sharma credited as the writer. It is produced by Jio Studios and Colour Yellow, the production banner associated with Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma.
A rom-com with a conversation
Positioned as a romantic comedy, the film focuses on relationships, changing gender dynamics and social expectations, aiming to combine lighter moments with conversations around issues affecting contemporary relationships. The recently released poster gives audiences their first indication of the film's tone, while the upcoming trailer is expected to reveal more about its characters, storyline and treatment.
Rai has also spoken about discovering the film's lead actors, saying he knew from early on that Duggal and Srivastava would be the perfect fit for the story.
Nakhrewaalii will arrive in a busy festive theatrical window, as Bollywood lines up a string of releases through the end of October.
