Prime Video has released the official trailer for 'Apocalypse Z: New World', the sequel to the 2024 Spanish zombie hit 'Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End'.
The film, titled 'Apocalipsis Z: Un Nuevo Mundo' in Spanish, will make its world premiere at the Sitges Film Festival on October 10 as part of the festival's 59th edition. It will then stream worldwide on Prime Video on October 30, arriving in more than 240 countries and territories in time for Halloween.
Last refuge in the Canary Islands
The sequel expands the universe created by Spanish author Manel Loureiro. With the TSJ virus having devastated the globe, the Canary Islands have become Europe's last refuge. When critical shortages force a specialised mission back to the infected mainland in search of vital supplies, Roberto joins the team with questionable intentions — and what begins as a supply run turns into a desperate race for survival amid hordes of infected and fracturing loyalties.
Carles Torrens returns to direct from a screenplay by Ángel Agudo. The ensemble cast is led by Carlos Alcaide, alongside Julia Martínez, José María Yazpik, Mónica López, Tamara Casellas, Santiago Vaca and Berta Vázquez.
The original film became one of Prime Video's most-watched international titles, trailing only 'Your Fault' as the most-watched international Original film on the service, which has raised expectations for the sequel.
