Actor Celina Jaitly has shared an emotional note on Instagram marking one year since she returned to Mumbai, writing that she pleaded with her husband Peter Haag for an amicable separation in their ongoing divorce battle. All the claims below are from her note, as reported by NDTV.
Jaitly wrote that she arrived in Mumbai on October 12, 2025, with a credit-card-booked ticket and one suitcase. She says she was served a divorce notice in early September 2025 under the pretext of being driven to the post office to collect what she believed was their 15th wedding anniversary gift.
"Told to speak to his lawyers"
According to Jaitly, the judge at their first hearing gave the couple until November to work towards an amicable separation. She writes that when she pleaded with Haag for an amicable split, she was told to speak to his lawyers — and that if she was short of legal fees, she should work as a cleaner. She refers to 15 years of marriage and their four children.
Allegations over premarital assets and children
Jaitly alleges that a legal notice then laid claim to her premarital assets, that she lost access to Austrian bank accounts, and that efforts were made to sell her premarital assets in India. She writes that she left home at 1 a.m. with the help of Austrian neighbours, spent a week in a hotel, and spoke to her children over Zoom and phone calls. She claims contact with her children was severed after she went to court to reclaim her premarital assets, and alleges ongoing efforts to alienate them across Austrian jurisdictions.
NDTV reports that Haag filed for divorce in an Austrian court last year. The couple married in 2010 and are parents to twin boys born in 2012 and another set of twins born in 2017. The NDTV report does not carry a response from Haag.
