Airship AI Holdings has secured $29.0 million in firm-fixed-price contracts from an agency within the US Department of Homeland Security, the company announced on October 1. The awards support public safety and investigative requirements and carry a six-month period of performance.

The Redmond, Washington-based company, which trades on Nasdaq under the ticker AISP, said the brand-name-only awards span all three core areas of its product portfolio — software, edge and server-side AI platforms, and turnkey hardware.

What the contracts cover

The awards include new development work on Airship AI's Acropolis software ecosystem, focused on autonomous edge sensor data collection and on raising the confidence level of user-defined event detection, with Airship AI acting as the intelligence layer for customers' larger sensor networks.

On the hardware and platform side, the company will deliver additional quantities of Outpost AI, its edge AI appliance built to run advanced analytics at the tactical edge, alongside Fortress AI — its newly released server-side platform for centralised, high-capacity AI processing. Because Fortress AI processes video and sensor data on premises, customers keep full data sovereignty, with sensitive data never passing through third-party cloud infrastructure.

The company will also deliver customised, turnkey hardware systems that let users collect data at the edge, transport it securely to designated endpoints, and receive AI-derived actionable intelligence in real time — covering both ongoing operational deployments and several pilots.

Push toward agentic AI

Airship AI president Paul Allen said the awards reflect the growing importance of AI-driven surveillance in homeland security, describing autonomous edge AI as a force multiplier for law enforcement.

Allen also signalled where the company is headed next: Airship AI expects to release new agentic AI functionality within "Ask Airship," its agentic AI platform, before the end of 2026. Ask Airship is designed to sit on top of customers' existing video, sensor and access-control systems, pairing their data with suitable AI models to generate actionable intelligence without replacing current infrastructure.

The company noted that Fortress AI is expanding into enterprise federal law enforcement operations after initial tactical deployments supporting major 2026 National Special Security Events.
